"Safe"

"Safe"

A Poem by Valentine

            "Safe"

The door is locked, where love abides.

Allowing no one access...to the inside.

So long closed, rust covers the key.

And moss enwraps...what use to be.

Lock covered and stained with age,

Stored safely, within...it's cage.

Pain is locked outside of the door,

Of this heart...that can feel...no more.

So long abused, love wept...and cried;

Crawled within...itself...and died.

brilliant poetry Kathie, the descriptive passages of a heart locked away for so long and rusted and aged are fantastic, the end so sad but so terrific in its pure poetry, thank you :)

A poem is just inner thoughts coming out. They can be about anyone or anything. Kathie

I think trust is a big issue. When trust is gone, love dies. Kathie
Beautiful write. Locking our heart away to keep it safe until we can trust some one enough to open it again.

Wow. So true and sad. You are welcome...:)......
I'd like to pick that lock and jump right in - I have much love to share :) yes yes it's true I do ...

I am very much enjoying the rhythmic flow in your lines - they allow you to sink within the words and find at the end the whole process was a lovely treat ... I know the theme is a bit sad and dark - but I shall say treat nonetheless - I enjoy it XX

Thank you very much for your kind words. Kathie
Valentine you really write some beautiful poetry and you capture every little detail and even though the theme is loss, love gone, a heart in retreat how beautiful your words that express these emotions . how I would love to emulate this but alas I could not even come close. your work is so refined and light years ahead of mine that maybe my poetry should crawl within and hide. An amazing piece and you set the bar beyond reach to produce such beautiful pieces of art close to the heart.I love your wording and how they flow and embrace your emotions.

With age your writing will grow. Aging is a learning process. You just keep writing. Kathie

you are very good at displaying hurt feelings, Kathie. I like the idea of a bruised heart that crawls within itself and dies. sad but beautifu.

You said a lot and left a lot not said in the poetry.
