   "Words"

 

Some words often come to mind,

That were not meant...to be unkind.

Words like..."forever" and "I swear,"

Or saying that, "I'll always care."

 

Or "darling I love you", "I'll always stay,"

And that..."I will never go away."

"By your side I will forever dwell."

"Gosh you are so sweet," or "I think you're swell."

 

For when a lover's heart is broken,

T'is other words that ... are spoken.

For... when one lover does depart.

He often leaves with both their hearts.

 

Then all the former words...come to mind,

Only now they seem...no longer kind.

With bitterness...you often recall...

The way your lover...said them all.

 

Now, all former words seem unkind,

You look inside of your heart and find;

Nothing but...an empty shell...

And echoing words, recalled...to dwell.

 

Now all the words...seem like bitter lies;

Unkind words...after all of love dies.

Love is a never ending test. Today I watch the grandchildren. I view love with different eyes.
"Now all the words...seem like bitter lies;
Unkind words...after all of love dies."
In real life. Words can lose and gain value. If we are lucky. We had known love for awhile. Thank you dear Poet for sharing your powerful poetry and thoughts.
