   "Words"

 

Some words often come to mind,

That were not meant...to be unkind.

Words like..."forever" and "I swear,"

Or saying that, "I'll always care."

 

Or "darling I love you", "I'll always stay,"

And that..."I will never go away."

"By your side I will forever dwell."

"Gosh you are so sweet," or "I think you're swell."

 

For when a lover's heart is broken,

T'is other words that ... are spoken.

For... when one lover does depart.

He often leaves with both their hearts.

 

Then all the former words...come to mind,

Only now they seem...no longer kind.

With bitterness...you often recall...

The way your lover...said them all.

 

Now, all former words seem unkind,

You look inside of your heart and find;

Nothing but...an empty shell...

And echoing words, recalled...to dwell.

 

Now all the words...seem like bitter lies;

Unkind words...after all of love dies.

My favourite of yours Kathie. The same words when viewed from the two differing perspectives of 'before/during' and 'after'. You so very astutely convey the weight that the listener and receiver of words bestows upon them in differing mindsets. It like the words were dispatched in one form by the person emitting them only to be constantly and continually repackaged by the receiver.

Love, four letters that we have assigned to describe the greatest feeling ever known to mankind. Some people use the word very passively and just throw it around. Others give it some respect in moments of somberness, births..deaths...weddings...etc and then there are others that respect that four letter word for what it truly entails, every facet of what the experience of what true love is/was all about. Kathie, you are one of these divine people, you exemplify what the word love was/is supposed be. You are now a living example to the rest of the people around you to see how you still Love!
