"Would You?"

"Would You?"

A Poem by Valentine

'Would You?'

If I crawled inside...
Would you keep me warm;
Wrap and hold me close,
Keep me safe from harm?

Could I snuggle tightly...
To your broad chest;
Lay...my weary head,
While I find...eternal rest?

If I crawled inside...
Would you hold me tight;
Chase away all fears...
Free my darkest...nights?

If I held out my heart...
And soul...to you...
Would you flee or stay;
Just what would you do?

I read this not only as a plea to a significant other, but also as a prayer; a question of faith. Will Spirit turn you aside? Simple and moving poem, Kathie.

A beautiful poem. I like the questions and the desire in the poem. Life teaches us to open and close doors. I believe we open too few doors in a long life. Life and kindness should be the goal of the all of us. I like the offer in the poem. Thank you for the excellent poem.

These are questions one might ask another when their love is questioned, loyalty from their loved one perhaps not always there for them. Another thought provoking write Kathie!
