Chapter 47

Void woke up and got out of bed, only to see his coat, gauntlets, and boots were missing. Void in their place were black gloves, a blue button up jacket, and black socks and shoes. Void put them on, fastening all the buttons on the jacket, as well as putting on his mask, and Elaine woke up and said, "You really look dashing in that outfit, sweety. But the mask gives you an extra mysterious vibe. Even though it only covers your mouth and nose." Void looked over to her and said, "Does it not look good?" She laughed and said, "No... I think it looks good. Maybe too good. I feel the other girls will have a hard time looking away." She walked over to Void, giving him a kiss against his mask, and walked away to the wardrobe. She got out some clothes and was about to change, when Void said, "Are you trying to seduce me, dear?" She giggled and said, "Are you sure you didn't seduce me first?" Void walks over to her and embraces her from behind, while saying, "I guess you're right about that." She then turned around, touch his mask, and took it off. She then asked Void, "How does it stay on?" Void replied, "It's specially designed to stay attached to the face until someone touches it. It'll be a long explanation if I start, think we have time?" Elaine laughed and said, "We have lots of time." Before dropping Void's mask onto the ground, wrapping her arms around his neck, and pulling him down onto the bed.

Luxia and Veto came out of their rooms dressed in green uniforms and Veto sigh while saying, "I like cosplay, but uniforms are a little... eh." Luxia laughed and said, "Well you'll have to get used to it. Anyway, we got to go we have some things to do." Veto sigh again and said, "Now I got to work, great... So is Void coming with us?" Luxia replied, "Nope, he's currently busy and remember you have to call him Valayto now or you'll blow his cover." Veto then said, "Ah, my bad. So where are we going?" Luxia replied, "We're going to eat and then check on Lem while we wait for Valayto. Once he catches up with us we'll all go see the king." Veto then said, "I see," and they enter the dining room. Once they finished eating, they left the mansion and checked on Lem's condition. Once they were done with that, they sat on the steps waiting for Void, and after three hours he came out. As they walk to Lem Veto and Luxia asked Void a ton of questions and he said, "No comment."

Soon they walked up the steps of the castle and entered the audience chamber. Void, Veto, and Luxia kneel down in front of the king and he said, "It's good to see you were safe, Valayto. I'm glad to have you back." Void then said, "Thank you, your highness. But I am sorry to announce that my memory is not what it once was." He then said, "That I know. I have received a report earlier stating your amnesia. It's unfortunate, but it's a small trade for being alive." Void then said, "Yes, your highness. So is there anything you need me to do? I want to get back to work as soon as possible." He then said, "I thank you for being so devoted but for now I suggest you take it easy. As for your companions, there is something I would like them to do." Luxia then asked, "What is it, your highness?" He replied, "I have a request. Could I hired you two to be my son's personal guards?" Luxia then said, "Well I see nothing wrong with accepting. So we'll do our best." He smiled and said, "Good, then you should get to know him. He should be at the garden at this time." So Void was sent home by a soldier and Veto and Luxia were guided to the castle's garden. When they arrived, they saw a teenage boy squatting in front of some flowers. He had black hair, a cute face, and was wearing a white suit. The soldier then called him, "Thellium." Upon hearing his name he stood up and walked over to them. Thellium was the same height as Veto, he bows his head, and said, "Hi, my name is Thellium Rusenbert. I'll be under your care."

Luxia kneels down and said, "Likewise your highness. I am Luxia Faltorun and this is my brother Veto Faltorun." Veto smile at him and said, "Hey, you're pretty cute. Almost mistook you for a girl." Thellium laughed and said, "Well you're not the first and probably not the last." Luxia then pushed Veto onto his knees and said, "Hey! You're being rude." Before looking to Thellium and saying, "I'm sorry about my brother." Thellium then said, "It's ok, don't worry about it.I actually prefer it if you spoke more casually instead of formally." Luxia nodded her head and all three of them sat around a table talking about various things. Thellium had asked them a lot of questions and Luxia answer the best she could. While they were enjoying themselves, Void was at the mansion and was reading through some papers and books. Elaine then knocked on the door to the room and said, "Sweety, I'm going to go to work now." Void then put down what he was reading, got out of his seat, and quickly opened the door. Elaine was still at the door and she started giggling, before saying, "Are you that worried about me?" Void replied, "Yes, are you sure you can go to work in your condition?" She nodded her head, smile, and replied, "I'll be fine sweety, I promise." She then gave him a kiss and said, "Well I better hurry. Verlain has to get to work after she drops me off." She ran down the hall and Void shouted to her, "Don't work too hard." She shouted back, "You too," making Void laughed before he heads back to reading. When he had finished reading and calculating the papers it seems they were in debt. Void sigh as he laid back in his chair and said, "Guess I'll have to do something about this. Hopefully, the others are doing alright."

Soon the maids and butlers return to the mansion, then Luxia and Veto, and finally Elaine and Verlain returned home. Void was wondering why the servants are working despite working for them. Trevor told him, "Both you and the lady saved us when we were starving, had no home, no job, and no one cared about us. So we all feel like we should repay you two for the kindness we were given. After all, they helped you when you needed it the most. So abandoning them when they're suffering just so you can be happy is nothing but selfish. Now then, Faltorun-sama I'll take my leave and prepare dinner. When it's ready I'll come get you." Void then said, "Okay Trevor," and Trevor left his office as his wife came into the room. They talked about her work and after some time Luxia and Veto joined them. Trevor soon came to the room and everybody left to the dining room. After they all ate dinner together, they headed back to their own rooms and went to sleep. Several days later, the first town Void, Luxia, and Veto arrived at got attacked. So several mechs were deployed as reinforcements and Void asked the king if he can be sent out with them as well and the king agreed. So Void hurried to the hanger, got inside Rexalfist, and left with the others.

They arrived at the town within a few hours and saw several vehicles evacuating the area. So they maneuvered around them and saw several gray and white mechs shooting at each other. Void was about to shoot one of the mechs when he saw a blue and white mech dive in from the sky. It dived onto a gray mech, sliced it in half, and it exploded. The mech came out of the explosion towards Void and he realized it was Zec. So Rexalfist flew towards Zec, blocked his swords, before punching him in the chest, and sent him crashing through some buildings. Zec then stood back up and Vain said, "Yep, that was Void and Rexalfist. Well, let's give them one hell of a time!" So Zec rushed at Rexalfist and soon barrages of attacks and beams flew everywhere. Everybody was amazed at the two mechs movement being so fluid, but they quickly snapped out of it when several lasers start destroying mechs. Though their shots weren't friendly fire, Rexalfist shot the white mechs while Zec shot the gray mechs. Soon Leonhart gave the command to fall back and the gray mechs commander did the same. As their allies retreated, Zec swung both swords downward, and Rexalfist guarded against it before kicking him away. Rexalfist then fired a gold beam at Zec and Zec fired a blue beam back. Their beams collided and Void created an explosion between the beams with magic. Exploding a black cloud of smoke all over the battle field, so that they could stop fighting and retreat with the others. Vain then said, "Tch, so much for hell of a time." Zec laughed and said, "There's always next time master." Void then spoke to Vain and said, "We're not here to spar. We can do that on our own time." Vain then said, "Fine," and Void said, "Good, I'll do some investigation on my side. So you better do some as well. Our job is always to bring peace." Vain then said, "Fine," and they quickly caught up with their allies.
