Chapter 24

Three years later, Vain is training with a knight. While Freena is watching them and Luvia, Relean, and Cecily are studying together. Vain was giving the knight pointers as they continue sparring. Showing him were he needed to improve. Soon he sat down on the ground exhausted and Freena walked over with a wooden sword. She wanted to test her skills against Vain as well.

"Are you sure lady Freena? Our commander is seriously strong and he's only just using one hand."

She smile at the knight and walked over to Vain, taking a stance. Vain then tap her sword with his, telling her to strike, so she swung, and he blocked. They repeated these steps for a while, until Vain decided to go on the offensive, and she barely manages to block each of his attacks. They exchange offense and defense several times, Vain was clearly not taking it seriously if they're alternating. If he was, it would be too hectic and hard for them to keep up. So he takes it slow, until he sees that they're ready.

After two hours of training, Freena got tired, and sat down with the others. Luvia poured her a cold glass of fruit juice and handed it to her. She took it and Luvia poured another one for Vain. They both drank it and Void walked over to them.

"Have you gotten better Vain?"

"Who knows?"

"Then shall we find out. I've been itching to get some exercise."

"You're on."

They both walked away from the group and Vain drew his engine blade out from its sheath. Luvia set a barrier around them, before distracting herself by talking to the others. Vain made the first move and lunge at Void, who took a step to the side, dodging Vain's attack, and countering with a left uppercut. Striking Vain in the chest and sending him back across the air.

He back flipped and landed on his feet as Void said, "Vaporize."

Firing a white beam out of his left hand, Vain struck his sword into the ground, crank three times, and sent a fire wave towards Void. Slicing Void's magic in two, making it miss him, and his fire wave continues to travel towards Void. But once it reach his hand, it disappear, and Void clasp his hands together.

Before pulling them apart, with electricity sparking between them, and saying, "Lightning bursts."

Massive amounts of giant lightning flew towards Vain, so he change his cartridge from red to brown, struck it into the ground, crank once, and upon pulling the trigger, created a dirt wall in front of him. The lightning struck the wall, doing no harm to Vain, as he changes the cartridge to green, cranking his blade twice, firing a wind blade through the wall, and towards Void. Which again was neutralized, Void released his chains, sending them through magic portals, and aimed at Vain's back. Vain dove through his wall, activates armor release, before running towards Void, and swinging his blade at his side. Void knocked his sword aside and wrapped his chains around Vain. Vain then activated god release, devouring the chains, before swinging his sword down on Void. Void activated armor release, coating him in a silver armor, and used both of his arms to block the attack. The impact was strong enough that it shatter the ground beneath them and the barrier surrounding them. As well as the facility, but Void manage to keep everyone safe by rapidly fixing everything.

"Hey, hey, take it easy Vain. Don't want to destroy everything."

"Sorry, my bad."

"Guess that's enough for now. Otherwise we'll really wreck more then this place and really end up hurting someone."

So Void and Vain both reverted back to normal. Soon everyone had gather next to Luvia and sat down on the picnic blanket, including Veto and Luxia. Everyone ate and drank what Luvia prepared, while Void talked.

"As everyone knows, the enemy has finally made their move. They'll be waging war against us and their home base is the kingdom that use to belong to Relean. Vain well be heading straight to the heart, with Veto providing support, Lumia will be left behind to protect the kingdom, and so will Luxia, she's in charge while I am away. You two do your best to protect everyone."

They both nodded at Void's words and he continues, "As for me, I'll be providing support for the other kingdoms and races. Once they're all cleaned up, everyone will gather to help Vain. While we're all out, the knights will be left in charge of maintaining order and protection, and Tasha and Bastion will be left in charge of them. Does everyone understand?"

Everyone nodded their head and Void left to take care of the arrangements. Everyone else left to prepare as well, but Lumia stopped Vain, and handed her weapon to him. He took it and walked away. He soon arrived in his personal blacksmith workshop, inside the castle, and started to disassemble her weapon, checking if anything needed repairing or replacing. The chains inside her grip were okay, but the string located inside the edge of her blade was slightly worn. So Vain took the blade edge off and changed out the string, before inspecting the edge. Which had a few chips and cracks in it, making Vain wonder how hard she was swinging her weapon, and at what she was swinging it at. He then melted the edge and reforged it into a new edge. While adding an extra metal for reinforcement, once the edge was finish he set it down, and focus to fix the machinery inside the blade. An hour later he finally finishes and puts everything back together. Setting the finish weapon down against the side of his work bench, as he begins working on his engine blade.

Lumia soon came into his workshop and picked up her weapon. She gave it a quick swing, to judge the weight, and quickly cycle through the rest of its shifts. Making sure to test each one and see if there was any problems, which there wasn't.

"Any problems?"

"Not that I know of, if anything this is calibrated well. My sword was starting to get too light, so a heavier sword isn't a problem. You and Void are really alike when it comes to your work."

Vain was about to say something, but Lumia interrupted him, "I know, I know, but you guys are no doubt passionate about what you put your effort into. Anyway thanks for fixing my gear."

Strapping her sword onto her back, she left the room, and walked down the hall into the kitchen. She peeked in and saw four ladies and a twelve year old girl hard at work. They were prepping some food for dinner, while chatting, and enjoying each others company. So Lumia walked in and surprised a light blue hair woman from behind, with a hug.

"L-Lumi, that's dangerous. I'm holding a knife, what if I hurt you?"

"Oh... are you really that worried about me?"

"U-U-Um..."

"That's so cute... but I'm more worried about you, Yuni. I hope I didn't make you cut your delicate fingers. If I did, I would hate myself. Hurting the person you love is not something to be proud of."

Lumia held Yuni's free left hand in her's and brought it up to her lips. Giving it a kiss on the back and on the fingers, before letting it go, and watching everyone cook from the entrance. Luvia gave a small giggle at how well the two of them got along, while Relean was envious and wanted to try it. Yuni blushed hard, her face lighting up like a tomato, but Lumia laughed happily and enjoying the scene the two were creating. Tasha only smile at the scene and continue working, while keeping a close eye on Cecily and teaching her properly.

In the middle of the night, the man with a full mask suddenly appeared in front of the dark knight.

Everyone one of his servants ready themselves to fight him, but he said, "Oh... do you really think you'll be able to entertain me?"

Suddenly all of their weapons vanished in front of them and so some of them fired magic at him, which also disappear. A chill soon ran down their spines, but they weren't going to back down. So they all rushed at him and the man made them all disappear. Only the man and the dark knight remained in the room.

"What do you want?"

The man replied, "Only you," and pointed at the dark knight, while smiling underneath his mask. 

The next day, everyone woke up early, double checked their gear, and left in a hurry. Vain and Veto ran to their destination, while Void created multiple copies of himself and teleported to various places around the world. Lumia stood in front of the town's entrance, with her bow ready, as everyone else gathered in the audience chamber of the castle.

Your story is so good!

Unfortunately the grammar problems and the unclear nature of who is saying what, erroneous structure, out of place words and phrases etc makes it hard to read. If you could or rather have someone to help rewrite or edit it for you it'd be a masterpiece. That being said, I'm just glad you wrote it. Your ideas, while they lack good structure, are exciting and fun to read.

I can tell by your story that you're a fan of anime, I am too.
