Prologue: Introducing the Gods

A village is being set on fire as a group of bandits pillage and kill the villagers. Only killing the people who fought back and capturing the rests to sell into slavery. Everybody then gather at the center of the village as the bandit leader inspects the villagers to pick a trophy to keep. He then saw a girl with beautiful blonde hair so beautiful it was like her hair was gold. He then reach his hand out towards her, but before he could touch her someone behind them called out to them.

"Hey, you guys know where I am?"

All of the bandits turn around as the villagers look straight ahead spotting a black hair man wearing a dark black shirt, pants, shoes, and coat with a silver chain attaching the open collar together. His coat only have one sleeve which his right hand extended through. A large scar also cut down his left eye from his eye brow to his cheek. As everybody only stare at him in silence, he rub his neck with his right hand.

"Uh... I did asked a question. Any of you guys mind answering me?"

As he said that they all snap out of their daze and the leader of the bandits reply to him.

"I'll tell you if you hand over everything you possess."

The man only sigh before saying, "Why do I always have to do things the hard way?"

"Because Darling's luck is always really bad."

Everybody was surprise as a woman voice suddenly reply to the man. A woman then step out from behind the man waving her hand at them as if saying hello. She wore a pure white shirt, knee length skirt, gloves, coat, and silver metal boots. But her coat was different then the man since she has both the right and left sleeves which her arms go through. She also had long silver hair which everyone stared at with admiration. The bandit leader then shook his head clearing his thoughts.

"How about you hand that woman over as well? She is without a doubt a beautiful woman, worthy of being my prize."

After he finish talking he ran towards the two people. Making the man reach his right hand into the left side of his coat. Pulling out a very interesting looking single edged sword. It looked more machine then metal as he then stabs the sword into the ground. Before turning the handle making the sword hum an engine sound out of it. Causing the edge of the blade to glow red along with the noise. He then turn the handle two more times making the sword bright red before pulling it out of the ground.

"Luvia."

"Okay Darling."

From those words alone the woman, name Luvia, understood what the man wanted and created a barrier stretching from the center of the villagers outward. Pushing the bandits back and away from the villagers. The man then pull the sword out of the ground, extending his index finger to pinky finger, and placing them onto what looks like a bike's brake grip. Which extended out from the bottom of his blade near the hand guard.

He then pointed the sword at the bandits before gripping the protrusion towards the handle. Causing the edge of the blade to open and fire a stream of fire at the charging enemy and the rests of his group. Burning them into complete ashes before looking towards Luvia.

"Luvia, go see if anyone is hurt. I'm going to put out the fire."

"Hehehe, of course Darling. But I think you might have added more fire onto the recent fire."

"Not my fault he pissed me off. Seriously trying to touch someone else's woman. If I had a choice, I'd bury him alive and let him suffocate slowly."

"Now now Darling. Calm down and let's help the people."

"Fine."

Luvia then disables her barrier as she ran towards the villagers to see if anyone needs to be heal. The man walked away towards the burning houses with his sword still in hand. A small red container on the edge of the blunt side of the blade vanish, as a blue container took its place.

The man stab the sword into the ground again only turning it once before pulling it out. Sticking the sword straight up he gripped the switch making the blade open and shooting a ball of water into the air. Which exploded in mid air and rain down on the burning village putting out the fire while getting everyone soaking wet.

The container then change again from blue to green. Repeating the steps again, but this time he didn't release it. Changing the container back to the red, he turn the handle making the blade glow red and green. As he took it out of the ground he swung the sword in a circular motion as he grip the switch. Causing a blasts of hot air to shoot out of the blade and drying everybody, and everything, up. With his job done he sheath his sword back into its scabbard, which is attach to the left side of his hip under his coat, before making his way to the group.

"So, is everyone alright?"

"Yes, sir. Well everyone here at least."

The man looked at the person who answer his questions. Seeing it was a man in his twenties.

"I take it the elders and a few people who fought back are dead."

"Yes sir."

"I see, well bests give them a proper burial. I'll help where I can."

"Thank you for the offer, but it's better if we take care of it ourselves. We can't afford to be more indebted to you then this." 

"I see, then consider our working fee as information."

As the man said that he started to walk away towards a rubble that use to be a house before stopping and turning his head.

"Hey kid, what's your name?"

"Oh uh, my name is Rudcher."

"I see, call me Vain. I hope you're as smart as you look."

(Luvia)"Sorry about my husband. He likes doing whatever he wants with or without permission."

(Rudcher)"Ah, no it's alright. If he wants to help then I can't exactly tell him to stop, can I?."

Vain didn't care about Luvia and Rudcher small talk so he turn his head back and walked away towards the rubble. Lifting a burnt roof and tossing it aside with only his right hand. All of the villagers had shocked expression at the sight of what just happen, but Vain continue working without care. As he pulled body after body out of the fallen wooden buildings, the rests of the villagers dug graves for them, and placed the bodies in. While Luvia and the woman do what they can, salvaging what was still usable while keeping the children occupy and safe. As the sun was setting, they finally manage to finish bury all of the dead bodies.Vain was going to cross his arm across his chests when he stop midway muttering to himself.

"Right... I can't do that anymore."

"Thank you for your help, Mr.Vain."

"No problem kid, though don't call me Mr."

 

Vain was standing under a tree and decided to put his right hand on his waist. As Rudcher came over to express his gratitude and enjoy a little rests as well.

"Ah, my bad. Then thank you Vain."

"Much better. So what's the plan now kid?"

"Well since most of the houses are burned down we cant use any of them. Not to mention it's not like we can just build a new house from scratch. Especially with the amount of time we have left. So we're probably going to sleep in the center of the village for a while as we try to rebuild it."

"I see, then allow me to keep watch while everyone sleeps."

"Eh, are you sure Mr.Vain?"

"Yeah it's fine with me and you called me Mr again."

"Hahaha sorry about that. Force of habit, I've always been raise to respect people."

Vain sighs as he stood up straight. Seeing that Luvia was coming on over to them.

"So, about my payment."

"Ah yes, information right?"

Vain nodded his head as he started walking towards Luvia with Rudcher following after him.

"We can talk about it while you eat. I'm pretty sure you're getting hungry now, kid."

"Food does sound good right about now."

Rudcher rub his stomach, smiling, as he reply to Vain. As Rudcher got a bowl of soup, he notice Vain wasn't next to him. When he look around he saw that Vain was standing a few feet away from everyone and staring out into the distance of a open road. Rudcher walked over to him standing right beside him.

"Are you not going to eat, Vain?"

"I only eat for the tastes. I don't necessarily need to eat to survive."

"Oh."

"The same with sleep. I sleep for just dreaming, otherwise I don't sleep."

"I see, so I'm guessing you're not human. If you don't mind me asking, what are you then Vain?"

"Yep, I may look exactly like a human, but I'm definitely not human. Not after I lost my left arm and eye."

He unlatch the silver chain on his coat from his left shoulder and letting his coat fall off his left shoulder. Revealing that he had no left arm only a shoulder, before Luvia walked up to them and put his coat over his left shoulder. Vain then fasten the silver chain back into place which kept the coat firmly on his shoulder. Luvia then step back and watched over them as they continue talking.

"My left eye was able to recover, but my arm not so much. Also If you think I'm handicap you'd better think again kid."

An arm then slide out of the left side of Vain's coat. But it wasn't a human arm it was completely pitch black like a shadow. Surprising Rudcher and making him take a step back.

"Heh, take it easy kid. It's not like I'm going to turn you into mince meat."

"No, I wasn't scare. More like I was surprise."

"I see, well my shadow arm allows me to do a lot of things. Though it's only one of my arms. I have a few different types."

"Oh... well I at least got a look at one of your arms."

"I like how you were only surprise. Well that at least answers one of my questions."

"Oh, what question would that be?"

"If magic existed in this world. Judging from your reaction, I take it magic is a common thing."

"Well, yes magic is common. Though the most basic elements water, fire, wind, earth, and lightning is what everyone mostly use. I've never seen someone able to use higher level magic. At least not to the level of your darkness element arm."

"I see, well we derail off topic for a bit. For now let's just say I'm a wandering traveler. Now onto the real question I needed answer, where am I?"

"Oh yeah. That was your question when you arrive here, wasn't it?"

"Yeah."

"Well you're on the continent Elence in the village of Rola or what remains of Rola."

"I see, know of any capital or big city where I can find some work? Seeing how I just got here, I don't have much in the way of money."

"Then you're bests bet will be to head to the capital city of Elance. If you head south from here you should reach it in four days."

Rudcher pointed to their right as he spoke indicating which way was south.

"I see, thank you for the info Rudcher. Now you should get some sleep. It's already gotten quite dark out."

"Are you sure? You don't want to know more?"

"Yeah, this is all the info I need at the moment. I'll learn everything else from travelling so don't worry about it."

"Alright, then goodnight Mr.Vain."

After Rudcher left, Luvia pressed her coat against her butt, as she sat down on the ground, and looked at the star filled sky. They both stayed there silently not speaking a word while listening to the night wind blow. Causing Vain's coat to flutter a little as the night slowly passes by.

(In the capital of Elance.)

Sitting behind a desks, inside a castle, in the center of a well populated city is a hard working man. He has black hair with a small patch of white on his right bangs. He wore a white coat with blue outlining and a small rose sewn onto the left chests. As well as a white shirt and black pants. While silver metal gauntlets and boots cover his hands and feet. He also wore a pair of glasses and a black mask which cover the lower half of his face from his nose down. He was reading a paper in his left hand while holding a pen in his other. When the door to his room were suddenly open with a loud bang.

"Hey brother, I challenge you to another fight. This time I'll win."

A woman with long black gorgeous hair spoke as she pointed at him with her right hand. She wore a black shirt and pants as well as black metal boots. Her right hand was cover with a black glove as her left arm was cover in a black metal gauntlet. She also carried a black great sword with red lines etched into it, on her back. The man stared at her for a while before a maid, with brown hair, walked into the room bowing to the woman before walking towards the man and bowing to him.

"I have finish delivering the documents Master Void."

"I see, that's good. As soon as I finish this document I'll be stepping out for a bit."

"Oh, is Master Void and Lady Lumia sparring again?"

"Yep, so regarding the documents that will be here when I'm gone. Please have them piled neatly in the order that they came in and I'll look them over tonight."

"Yes as you wish."

The maid bow her head again as Void finish writing down something on the paper before standing and leaving. As he walks through the castle halls Lumia follow behind him.

"So, how's your time with the princess?"

"Eh, um... we're getting along well and with brother taking on more of her work we've even had time to go on a date."

Lumia blushed as she said that and Void chuckle a little, seeing that his little sister was enjoying herself.

"That's good. Though it sure took a while to get to that point. When we firsts arrive here twenty years ago they were all weary of us."

"Well we did just suddenly appear in the princess's room."

"Hahaha, yeah they finally started trusting us after we showed no ill intention to the princess. Though after we started working here they started trusting us more. Which then led to you guarding the princess more making you two really close. Even to the point that she confess to you. Of course everyone in the court disapprove since they all wanted a king, but I'm glad I manage to work something out."

"Which is why I'm grateful to you, but that won't make me take it easy on you. After all my goal is to beat you one day."

"Well then I guess I better not slack off. So that you can't reach your goal."

They then continue to bicker and chat as they walk from Void's office to the training grounds. When they finally reach the training grounds all the soldiers stop training and sat down along the walls resting. Void stretch loosening his body from all the desks work he's been doing. As Lumia drew her sword out of its sheath, taking a few practice swings before getting into position. Void then got into position as well and they both stared at each other. Lumia got ready to lunge at Void when they were shortly surprised and interrupted by a voice.

"Good luck Lumia! You can do it!"

They look in the direction of the voice to see a light blue hair woman waving towards them. She was wearing an elegant blue dress and a blue rose in her hair. They both then turn their head back, looking at each other again. Only for Void to see how bright red Lumia's face was. Before Void could say a word Lumia lunged at him fasts.

Void blocked it with his right boot before stomping on her sword with his left. But before he could connect it to the ground Lumia slide her sword back before swinging it back at his ribs. Void then caught the sword between his left elbow and knee. He then proceeded to swing his right fists at Lumia, but she also caught his attack with her left hand. As they couldn't move their hands everyone thought they were in a standstill, but Lumia jumped up before kicking Void's chests. Making him slide back as Lumia back flip safely onto the ground. Void brush the dirt off his chests as Lumia ready her sword again and rushes towards him. 

Void stood still not moving as she closes the distance and swung at his head. Before the sword could make contact Void caught it between his fingers. He then lift his right leg aiming to kick her in the face, but she caught it in her left hand. Void then jump off his left leg and goes to kick Lumia from the other side when she let go of her sword and blocked his attack with her right arm. Wrapping her arm around his leg before grabbing hold of her sword again. As Void was suspended in air, by Lumia's arm and hand, he did a spin and kick her with the heel of his right leg.

Lumia stumble away letting go of Void and he landed on the ground standing. Before they could continue the light blue hair woman came running towards Lumia. Caressing Lumia's face in her hands as she look at Lumia's face. Inspecting for any cuts, bruises, or injury of any kind.

"A-Are you okay Lumia?"

"I-I'm fine Princess Yuni, really I am. I'm more worried about you. Jumping into the middle of a fight isn't safe. What would happen if we accidentally hurt you."

"I know you two won't. You and your brother are the most skilled in the palace. By the time I step in you two would've frozen in place. Also aren't we lovers, you don't have to be so formal."

"Ah... well... yes Yuni. But that doesn't change the fact it was dangerous."

(Void) "It's fine isn't it? I mean she isn't wrong, not in the least. Not to mention, can you guys not have a lover's quarrel right here."

Both Lumia and Yuni blush as they realize everyone was staring. Void then dusts his clothes checking to see if he still had some dirt on him before walking away.

"Hey brother where are you going?"

"Back to work, we'll call this a draw for now. Besides I wouldn't want to interrupt your flirting."

He put his right hand up waving the back of his hands at them as he walks away. When he made it back to his room the sun had started setting. When he saw his desks there was three stacks of paper about ten inches tall. He sat down in his chair, picking up his pen, and takes a piece of paper. As he reads it thoroughly a maid walked into the room. She stood beside him watching him work, occasionally bringing him a drink and something to eat. By the time night has fallen Void has finish about two stacks of paperwork. He stretch in his chair before looking at the maid that was sleeping in one of the guests chairs. Void walked over to her before slowly picking her up off the chair. Holding her in a princess carry he made his way out of the room and down the hall.

(In a village Wests of Elance)

"Veto! Hey Veto, get up it's time to do some work!"

A woman with white hair and a small patch of black on her right bang. She was wearing silver gauntlets and boots as well as a black coat with a white bird sewn onto the right chests. She also wore a white shirt and black knee length skirt. She Was trying to wake a man, with white hair, from his slumber.

"Five more minutes, Luxia."

As he said that he shifts in his sleep trying not to pay attention to her. But that only made her more assertive. She pulled the blankets off him, before dragging him off of the bed, and letting him hit the wooden floors. Luxia left the room leaving Veto on the floor. He then got up off the floor yawning, before dressing himself up, and leaving the room. Veto wore a white shirt and pants with a white coat on. He also wore a red scarf around his neck, white gloves, and white shoes. When he caught up to Luxia he saw her standing next to a man, with a beard, at the entrance of the house. They both notice Veto so the man called out to him.

"Hey boy, ready to go hunting?"

"Well I can't skip it now, can I?"

"No, you can't Veto. We can't be freeloading on this nice man and his wife."

As Luxia said that she wave towards Veto though it was towards the person behind him. Veto looks back seeing a woman behind him before turning to look back at Luxia. He sighs as they all step out of the house and head towards a forest. Veto then jump into the trees and summon two hand cannon guns with magic.

"Alright, well guess I'm the scout and sniper again. Let's hope there's at least something fun here."

"Did you say something Veto?"

"No I didn't!"

As Luxia and the man travel on the ground Veto travel through the trees, hopping from branch to branch. When Veto felt a dangerous presence, he pointed his gun in the direction he felt it from, and pulled his trigger. A bullet made of magic flew out of the barrel and weaves through the trees and branches before hitting its target in the head. 

He sighs before saying, "I'm being put to sleep here."

He then yawns before looking back and seeing Luxia and the man catching up to him. Veto then went on further ahead as he saw a giant boar monster the size of a house.

"Ooh, that ought to be tasty. Hey, you two! Can we take that back?"

They both look up seeing Veto point to their left, they look in that direction.

"That's a pretty big boar, boy. The village wouldn't go hungry for a few weeks. But the only question is, would we be able to bring it back?"

"Don't worry, I'm pretty strong so I can carry it back by myself."

"Are you sure about that, little lady?"

Luxia nodded her head before looking at Veto.

"Well Veto take care of it so we can start heading back."

"Haha, now we're talking. Let's see you survive this."

The left and right side of the gun's barrel, in his right hand, pop open and slid up past the exit point. The gun was empty inside the barrel, so he created a bullet with my magic in his fingers before putting it in, and the side of the barrel slide back into place. He point his gun at the boar, but before he could shoot Luxia called out to him.

"Oh, also don't use your special bullets! If you turn it into mush then we can't really bring it back with us!"

"Ah... how boring."

Veto lowered his right hand, raised his left, and shot at the boar killing it instantly. As it lay on the ground motionless Luxia walked over to it and lifted it little by little until she was underneath it and could lift it from below. She carried the boar above her head as they walked back from where they came. Veto stop jumping as he felt something dangerous again.

"Hm... well I didn't get the chance to use this so..."

He looked at his right hand before pointing it. He then pulled the trigger and the sides of his gun open again. Shooting out three small ball of wind, two from the sides, and one through the barrel's exit. They weave through the forests before hitting their target and then a loud explosion could be heard.

The man looked back and ask, "What was that?"

Luxia laugh nervously, "My brother probably blew up a section of the forests."

"Ah, I see. I hope he didn't hunt something else. I wouldn't want the little lady to carry anymore then this big fella."

"Hehe well thank you, but I won't be carrying anything else. Since it would probably be in a million pieces."

"O-Oh I see."

They both continue to walk away and Veto had to catch up with them.
