Margie in Chargie

Margie in Chargie

A Poem by Dripping Chocolate Madness
"

Most likely 'At Largey'

"
Margie, Margie...
Puddin' pop.
Your reviews...
They make me drop.
I don't know how
you always seem
To always know
What people mean
But I'll tell you...
My oh my...
Quite often
They make me cry.
(And if you're wondering how I learned your name...
I'm pointing discretely right at Dave)

It was on his review. We don't speak.
At least... Not anymore...
Not ever since the...
Nevermind.

In school, my name was stingingly mocked with "Marge at Large" or some such rhyming epithet. Also, I've never enjoyed being "in charge" even tho I understand you mean it as a compliment! Aside from those initial freak-outs, I am totally flummoxed by your flattering poem. I'm reading the Dalia Lama right now, trying to get down the 8 tenets of Buddhism & one is to put other people above oneself. That is the tenet I try to employ when I review people becuz the best way to boost someone's tendency to write is to boost their feelings about self. When a review is largely corrective, it really deflates a writer & then instead of better writing, we often get NO writing. For me, it's all just a numbers game . . . putting it in so I can take quite a bit out (I'm just a dull-headed nimwit without the inspirational influence of reading all the amazing poets here!) Thank you for pumping up my ego to a dangerous level. I need to go for cup #2 & pipeload #1 of the day (at 6 am) to balance out this big ego trip you put me on! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
