PiecesA Poem by JayCan you look past the flaws of the person you love the most?I run for miles
but I Can’t manage to
find you The scent of your
cigarette stains the empty room And the new
cologne I bought you for your birthday is still strong as ever It still seems
like you never left But then again if
you didn’t, it wouldn’t be so Quiet… All I can hear is
the faint flutter of our lavender curtains And our harsh screams
that vividly echo in my head like a haunting nightmare. My purple bruises
replay the violent images of our last night’s showdown. Tears slowly run
down my cheeks like silent waterfalls I start to use
your favorite leather jacket as my own personal pillow And ball up in middle
of the scattered debris Of old broken
Heineken and whiskey bottles Our photograph
lays a few feet away from me How can the
spirited smiles of a loving couple suddenly shatter into a million pieces so
fast? Was it something
I did wrong? Do I not make you
happy? Are we able to
look past this and give it another chance? Why is it that I
can look past this and still manage to say…? I love you © 2010 JayAuthor's Note
