The music beats

batters

knocks

againt my soul

 

It comforts

angers

controls

Changes who you are

 

I hear it all the time

beating in the mind

always there

always with me

 

It never goes

yet it never stays

Coming and going

as it pleases

 

Songs come Songs go

but that same beat

it always there

laying in wait

 

The beat

it consumes me

it shapes me

it is me
