Still Point

just a poem I wrote

I know of a place

far from reality-

where powdery white sand

sifts softly between toes, 

where shallow water  

is the color of calypso music, 

where warm breezes

whisper through cabana curtains.

 

I know of a place 

that lures you into a deep and dreamy state- 

where you inhale calm and exhale peace 

a still point of pure nothingness, 

where the hunger for a satisfying breath

travels up your spine, 

where heaven and earth collide

into an Iridescent and radiant vibe.

 

I know of a place

that you can’t reach out and touch-

where the evening sun says its goodbye

over the edge of the horizon,

where time rushes into darkness

as the twilight sings a lullaby,

where the velvet of a thousand nights

is felt only by the rising moon.

VJWild,
I love that place... I was raised a saltwater guy. My being revolts at the jagged edges of modern life its sensual overload of noise, lights and anger... but for those like you who know, there IS another way... Hve you ever seen the movie "What the Bleep do We Know?" there is a quantum answer easily available, because words have way more power than most are aware of... and the stupid thing is, it is also Biblical... we are, in fact, what we say.

Wow thank you for the review! I’ll be honest, I forgot I even wrote this piece! It got lost in the shuffle as did the fact I have work out there for others to read, right here on this site! I was notified by email of your review and it truly made my day! It also encouraged me to be more active in this forum (something I completely forgot about!) Thank you thank you! (I’ve never seen What the Bleep Do We Know! Now I’m curious!) And I agree - there is so much overload in the world - let’s keep writing :)
