The Crone

The Crone

A Poem by VJWild
"

a short poem about death

"
I saw you
For the first time in months
You were the color of death
Gray, ashen
Your hair a long tangled mess
Cobwebs and dust
Darkness and defeat
I knew the time was coming
And so did you
Yet we did nothing about it
That day finally came, September
Blue, sunny and warm
Just like you used to be

This is so sad...reminds me of my mom as she neared the end.
Very sad, but relatable to me.
She was but a shell of what she once was...wasted away.
But her eyes were still piercing, sharp.

Gee
A poem that I could easily apply to the last 3 months of my old mums life.
I do like this very much, if like the right word!

Sorry for your loss, too. At least we aren’t alone, and we can write it out if we have to. Thanks .. read more
It's a strange sensation when you know someone's time is up.
The ball is rolling and there's no stopping it.
Some it seems just give up.
