The Midnight ZoneA Poem by K.VA Therapeutic Piece.I often feel, as if I am being lead astray. I lost my anchor on cruel sea's along the way. Lighthouse's litter the horizon's view. An Oasis you'll never touch and any hope of escape, is only assumed. I think of casting myself over, setting my spirit free, to wander about. Considerations plague my thoughts, and by the end of the board, I've tired myself out. Her voice, calls out to me. Quite suddenly, I'm struck by a moment of clarity. And any means to rid my mind of these memories seems unlikely. I remembered, why I wandered. And so, I jump, for the guilt could neither ease, nor subside. No space remained, for anything more than the pain I store to hide. One last smile, before I'm taken by high sea's. One last living call before I leave and surrender to the silence that stalk's me. One last vessel, sailing forward to sleep and call the darkness home. One more body offered, and buried deep in the midnight zone Bright stars above, and wide gaping jaws below. Tonight I offer no force, nor will I resist my Peace. Tonight, I humbly resign myself to confront mortality. Tonight I am Selfish, and no one will savor this final breath, save me... - M.
