         Tomorrow
                          Yesterday
      Everyday
The Past Memories
are what makes me smile
even when the dark, depressing world of racism and hate closes around me and tighten
with every seductive, dark coil

The Past Memories
are what sustains me
what keeps me going

The Memories of My Past
are why I fight so hard
for the memories of my future
