If I were a poet....

This is a poem that I wrote a short time ago

if i were a frog

i'd swim in my pond of imagination

all

day

if i were a dolfin  

i'd swim through the words of emily dickinson

and lie on the banks of pablo neruda

if i were a lion

i'd roar at the cages

of uneducated minds

to not aquiesce their

changable fates

if i were a person

i'd eat

drink

sleep

breathe poetry until

it was seeping out of

mi pours to the floor

be

neath mi

but if i were something

anything at all

i'd choose to be a poet

to let my lyrics fly

like an eagle just getting her wings
