Innocence

Innocence

A Poem by ;
"

Something I wrote after watching the news about a girl getting raped...Plain and Simple

"
My purity is mine
Not yours
You can take it from me physically
But emotionally it will always be there
You think you know
But you really don't
You can use brute force
you can leave all the bruises you want
But in the end it will always be there
No matter what

I did intrperate the piece as some sort of abuse...but the person its happening to has an inner strength that will never be broken no matter what. A great piece of writing.

i saw your comment after i read the poem. i initially took it for someone who is in an abusive relationship. and, i guess it still is--rape is about abusive as it gets. i think that the abuse comes through even without knowing the context of the poem is a credit to the the writing. good job.

This was really good.

I liked it, it's a strong poem with few words and makes a bold statement that no matter what even if the person is broken they will still have their purity, whether they will believe they are still pure or not is another question. Good job!

I like it blunt and very true! this gives courage to the inner spirit of women all over the place.
The only bad is a mispelled word. "Physically" is the way it should be.
Ohter then that i think it was a well done work!
Keep'im coming Erica!
