Bagpipes

Bagpipes

A Poem by Rana Adalwolfa Simon
"

A lament of sorts. RIP Leonard Nimoy. You lived long and prospered.

"

Do I weep in mourning,

as the bagpipes echo

across the bridge?

Do I weep in reverence,

a life and a friendship

restored in memory?

No, I think not.

There is no logic in tears.

Laugh. Yes, I will laugh.

I will join my laughter

to the joyful beat

of a Ballad

and reflect on the greatest

wisdom.

“The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one.”

Review is always welcome, but not necessary for this piece. This is more an expression of emotion than a refined work.

It is "refined" enough in my opinion, precisely because it not only is an expression of emotion, but it also allow the reader to experience these emotions... of "mourning", of "laughter", of remembrance and of contemplation of life itself...

having said this, while there may not be logic in tears, aren't tears are logical in relation to the heartbreak of loss??... aren't they part of what makes us human, because it it hurtful in losing someone and it is also in laughter we remember their life... both are "logical" I think...

loved the image of bag pipes across the bridge...

I think this poem represents a breaking point. I think in the beginning this person is just so depressed but it represents hope because they decided to laugh instead of cry and carry on with wisdom. I really like it good job!!
