How evil is humanA Poem by Usam
In hearts of men, a darkness dwells,
A shadow cast by greed and lies, With silver tongues and wicked spells, They weave a web where virtue dies. From wars that scar the blood-soaked earth, To whispers sown in envy's shade, The seeds of malice find their birth, In souls by twisted desires swayed. For power's grasp, they break the vow, Of love and kinship, trust betrayed, The flames of vengeance brightly glow, As innocence is cast away. For though in every beating breast, A serpent's hiss may sometimes rise, Let human kindness be our guest, And chase the shadows from our skies. © 2023 UsamAuthor's Note
