![]() Sleepy EyesA Poem by William C Jones III![]() This is the poem is for nights that are restless and feels everlasting. Not knowing what to do...![]() My mind won't rest and succumb to sleep
Which means my body has become aware It's so unpleasant that it thinks rest is cheap Eyelids wide open focused into a hardened stare But is there a solution in the midst of this confusion As everything that was so ever normal Has reached new heights of illusion What would it take to reach completion Fighting to stay awake is only a competition This is my petition to rid myself from this bondage As sleep does wonders in times of torment Yes it mends your soul and energizes your image The feeling is so rare that it touches your spirit That you took to be an unusual dream But not everything is as it seems as you can tell Pair up with sleep and erase those nights of longing For as you rise so does your well-being which is alive in health © 2013 William C Jones IIIAuthor's Note
