Sleepy Eyes

This is the poem is for nights that are restless and feels everlasting. Not knowing what to do...

                                       

                                       My mind won't rest and succumb to sleep

                                        Which means my body has become aware 

                                        It's so unpleasant that it thinks rest is cheap

                                    Eyelids wide open focused into a hardened stare

                                   But is there a solution in the midst of this confusion

                                              As everything that was so ever normal 

                                               Has reached new heights of illusion

                                             What would it take to reach completion

                                           Fighting to stay awake is only a competition 

                                      This is my petition to rid myself from this bondage

                                              As sleep does wonders in times of torment

                                            Yes it mends your soul and energizes your image

                                            The feeling is so rare that it touches your spirit

                                                    That you took to be an unusual dream 

                                             But not everything is as it seems as you can tell

                                     Pair up with sleep and erase those nights of longing

                                                

                      For as you rise so does your well-being which is alive in health

Hope you enjoy this poem just.... don't fall asleep lol. See with these nights things just doesn't seem right. This poem makes me sleepy....

The poem itself has a really good topic.. I think everyone can relate to the need for sleep. However, your rhymes are all over the place and non-existent in the last few lines. I am probably just being knit-picky, but it detracts from the reading experience for me when they rhymes are all over the place.

I can relate quite well to this poem. Being a college student, sleep is something I can never get enough of haha. You captured some great lines here. I especially love the description of how sleep can mend a person's soul. Great stuff!

i really like this..
first line i think you meant "won't"

and in the last line.."you" might work better and be smoother than "yourself"
