Eyes meeting

Across a crowded room

Hearts beating

Time stops

Souls Entwined forevermore

 

Isn't that how the story goes?

 

Thats not our story

Not exactly

I dont need or want that story

 

Ours far exceeds

Any fairy tale or novel

 

Pursuing a facade of Perfection

Meanwhile there is no seed

 

No seed of happiness

No seed of joy

No rock nor cornerstone

Nothing fills that void

 

The author of that fairytale

All to often

Is lost in the whimsy

 

Their dreams become their coffin

 

I much prefer our story

Its real and uncut

Full of life and its trials

 

We took things slowly

I knew you were someone

I didn't want to rush

 

Most men are disposable

Worthless in my sight

Hurt to many times

I dont feel they are worth the fight

 

Meeting you even over email

I knew I had to wait

I had to clean out all the b.s.

You were definately worth the wait

 

When we finally met

That fateful Thursday night

It was my birthday

It was my night

 

I could not believe

I would have never dreamed

how happy I could be.

 

Days turned to weeks

Weeks to months

And here we stand

What started as a wink

And now you hold my hand

 

The love, the joy, the happiness

unparalleled even to test

you've insighted a better me

and layed my fears to rest

the man of my dreams

could not rival our life

the life we are building

just feels so right

 

You have shown me the world

from the clouds high above

from which I've no desire to decsend

from up here, I've seen your love

 

Your a man of few words

Your a man of many actions

You show me what I've wanted to hear

 

From those who never lasted

 

You do not ask

For anything but my love

In return you give me yours

 

But that is just enough
