I Love You,

Do you love me?

Or is it her you see?

Is that why you dont know

the color of my eyes?

 

Looking at me

Do you look through me

looking beyond me

to your past

 

what you said was done

What you said was gone

 

7 years you said

 

At first I didnt think this was why

But now as I sit here and write

It is all I can do

 

Not to break down and cry

 

I think you do love me

 

But I think you love her too

 

But my love for you

Will Not let me share you

 

Not even with a memory

 

Of days long past

 

I thought I was your future

I thought that we would last

 

In you I saw a man,

A man that I adored

 

Not for money

Nor for cars

 

In you I saw much more

 

In you I saw a future

Of love and happiness

 

But when you look at me

Is your heart not at rest?

 

I simply cannot settle

For being good for now

 

The happiness and joy I feel 

I cannot take and not give back

 

When I know what I feel IS real

 

You see I love you for you

but I cannot be her

 

I wont ask you to choose

and I wont cry for love

 

Love that is not given freely

Isnt really love

 

I dont regret any love

Because I know I gave my whole heart

 

I will always wish

complete happiness

 

Even if its not with me

I pray this is insecurity

Playing games with me

 

I dont want to let you go

But I would rather,

 you not stay

 

If your heart is with her

Well thats just not a game

 I want to play

 

I have never had a doubt

Never a second thought

 

Since the walls tumbled down

It was you who stood victorious

 in my heart

 

There will always be a place for you

there where you first set down

 

but I cannot say I will be there

Should you decide to come

 back around

 

I gave you my all

If that wasnt enough

I want you to be happy

 will be tough

 

I love you truly

So much in fact

 

That I will turn away

To see the joy you showed me

To hear it in your voice,

Some writers, when you read them for the first time, you are amazed at. On WC I have found maybe six. They take your breath away with thier humour, love, the way they weave words into a tapestry of emotion and imagry. They make you laugh, cry and think. You know that you will return to them again and again, never tiring of their work.
