great expectationsA Poem by Ursa majorWhen you say all bodies are beautiful what do you really mean While you are eyeing her like she’s some get-it machine Up and down like a trick shot in the air With me in the corner in disrepair Secret comments they say in their heads Magazines say “your fat! No more bread” When I look in the morphing mirror, in my eyes What your saying to these young girls are lies! Saying they need big assets to fit in Body dysmorphia betraying the win Education systems say you're accepted When kids run around telling yourself you are judged and neglected Pointing out insecurities to make them feel better Just to get the hate letter But you're looking at her wishing you were her While shes looking at you wishing she was you Yet that is simply not true You are you and there is no better truth © 2024 Ursa majorAuthor's Note
