Final Letter To You

Final Letter To You

A Poem by Empty Roads

But down that drink

The jack, absolute, and the wine

Can you go a day without it?

Or is it do or die?

Can't you see what you're doing

Is tearing all of us apart?

This really needs to stop and soon

You're breaking everyone's heart

I can't take any more of this

It's become an everyday affair

And this anger and depression

Has be heightened by the drinks cold stare

Even though you say you're leaving

And that you can't take this anymore

For if this destruction persists

Moving out is something I might have to explore

So put down that beer

The rum, whiskey and the rye

Why don't you go over to an AA meeting?

You're making mother cry
