An Evening's Thought

An Evening's Thought

A Poem by Empty Roads
"

Wrote this one night when I was feeling really down. It's free-verse so nothing really rhymes or anything.

"
I need somebody
Someone or something to bring me back
To that beautiful warmth and light

Take this body away from me
And replace it with another
For what is there is nothing left of this one
To admire or desire
I've wasted away

For what is there to love
About these scars and stretch marks?
What's there to love about

This never-ending and never-leaving

Darkness that envelopes me?

One day, hopefully soon
This darkness will be the death of me
Then and only then
Will I be satisfied

Until that day
I'm just counting down the days
