A Poem by UrbanHermit

I awaken with the crows

and the blackbirds sing to me as i arise

they call to me

beckon me into the streets and shops

and sidewalks of the damned

who have long ago

turned to swine

I awaken with the crows

and ravens magpies and jays

they dance and feed

and kill

the garbage in the alley

and the road killed squirrels

are torn by their black hungry beaks

I awaken with the crows

the bear the law

that is beyond human law

and we are both wrapped in armor of our shadows

to follow

blind

the mad old drunk

paladins of pain
