In Your Hand

In Your Hand

A Poem by UponTheBrink
"

A heart can only take so much pain before it becomes as cold as steel.

"
My Silver Heart is yours to bear
Though made of steel, it can break
Please, dear, handle with care
For another I cannot make

My Silver Heart beats alive
As you hold it in your hand.
If you listen close, it sings a song;
Feel it if you can.
It whispers loudly and screams so softly
Of all the feelings I have felt--
Of memories lost and those still held.

My Heart is colorful,
Though, colored shade of grey.
Inside it holds a rainbow
As long as you will stay,
So look to the sky,
And find yourself a cloud.
Hold my Heart to that silver lining;
See its shining burst around.

When I am away, and you're feeling lost,
Take in hand, and feel the rhythm
Of my Silver Heart.
You and I, no matter how far, are never far apart
Because in your hand you always hold my Heart.
