My Little Songbird

My Little Songbird

A Poem by UponTheBrink
"

This is written to someone.

"
The night was young and so were we,
Loving each moment of each other's company.
She was calm and so was I,
But for the nervousness behind my eyes.
I took her hand, led her to my room
and wondered if it was too soon.
My hand known unsteady, now calm,
Assured me that I was not wrong.
Soon, I could feel it on my fingertips, on the tip of my tongue,
Her joy and her passion and the warmth of the sun;
It coursed through my body, and I know hers too
And to think my little songbird, that the girl was you.
