My Little SongbirdA Poem by UponTheBrinkThis is written to someone. The night was young and so were we, Loving each moment of each other's company. She was calm and so was I, But for the nervousness behind my eyes. I took her hand, led her to my room and wondered if it was too soon. My hand known unsteady, now calm, Assured me that I was not wrong. Soon, I could feel it on my fingertips, on the tip of my tongue, Her joy and her passion and the warmth of the sun; It coursed through my body, and I know hers too And to think my little songbird, that the girl was you.
