In TimeA Poem by UponTheBrinkSo, I have a lot of poems with a recurring theme, but I was trying to achieve a poem I was truly happy with. Here's another one that I thought was okay that I had made along the way.Day by day, In his tower, He works his art hour by hour. The clockmaker's gift and his pain. He gives 'em a heart but not a brain. They are his dolls. No two the same. His command is law. They play his game. Tick, tock Follow your heart. It's not what you see but what you feel-- Deep inside-- That turning steel. That spinning cog. Follow your heart. Tick, tock One day, two dolls arise With love in their eyes. They must escape From this hell. They cannot-cannot-cannot-- Will not end up like the rest. Feel that tick Turn to beats from your chest. Tick, tock Follow your heart. Not eyes, not ears, not thoughts, but what you feel Deep inside. That turning steel. That spinning cog. Follow your heart. Tick, tock They beat in time To that clock's click and grind. Hand in hand, and so they find That in their love, they have nothing but time.
