Beat Beat Beat

This was another one of my early poems. I believe it was the first time I tried free verse. It's not really one of my favorites, but I want to include a lot of my poetry despite my opinion.

Beat, beat, beat, the beating of my heart.

Your heart.

Our heart.

Love is a song--

It's meant to be sung.

Please, oh please, can we sing?

The rhythm--

The beating in time.

You are mine.

And I am yours.

We are one.

Love intertwined.

it is time,

For our song to be heard;

Let us sing it.

Oh, can we sing it, love...?

Love...?

Why are you gone?
