In the Morning's GloryA Poem by UponTheBrinkThis was my first poem. I wrote it roughly a year ago when I realized the morning glory flowers in my yard had mysteriously died.Every morning the Morning Glories wake before me to greet me to the new day. To show me the world's beauty--A picture of a magnificent city, Not one of construction, technology, or brilliance, but one of love, growth, and acceptance. A place of truth not lies, and light not dark. An evening in the sun or a night under the stars. A sanctuary, a grove, a place of utter bliss, Each time I feel this Morning Glory's light kiss. Now take me away, carry me in your arms. Embrace me, envelop me in your lover's charm. A new day--An old one still. Although brightened by this morning's chill. Warmth in its essence, a title of true express. This flower is more, more than love, never less. It expresses all in a simple sway. A billow in the wind on this cold, cold day. But never defeated, only resting, It willows down now with a lover's blessing. To rise again at dawn's next light. To shine again in a brilliant sight.
