Chapter 2 part 2

"Teila? What's wrong?" Saden kneeled beside me and picked me up, but when my knees gave out again he led me to the couch where Teresa was sitting. Wrinkles furrowed her brow as she moved over for me.
"Teila? Teila, can you hear me?" I guess I had blacked out for a few minutes, because when I opened my eyes, I was laying on the couch lengthwise, my family crowded around me.
I sat up. "Yes, yes, I'm fine. I don't know why I'm acting like this."
Bea held my hand. "What happened?"
I turned to look at them all, Kyle in the back, nervously twisting the hem of his shirt. I shook my head at him and he stopped.
I took a deep breath. "Saden, why didn't you tell me werewolves are real?"
"Werewolves?" echoed Gael.
"Teila, did you see one while I was gone?" Saden asked, his voice honey-smooth.
"More like the werewolf saw me.."
"Was it male or female?" Teresa inserted quietly.
"A big male with a big attitude."
"Wait, will he attack us?" Gael said to Saden.
"If he's alone and smart, no."
I stood up from the couch. Five pairs of eyes followed me. "I'm okay, you guys, honest. He just surprised me. And Saden," I said, turning to him, "what else is real?"
He took my spot on the couch and leaned over in thought. "I'm sorry, Teila, that I didn't tell you: it just never came to mind. But basically we, as vampires, live in a different realm than humans do. Where there's normal humans and animals in their realm, there's many species of creatures in ours."
Bea spoke up. "So, pixies are real? And mermaids?"
Gael shook his head, smiling. "Leave it to you to bring up little girl dreams, Bea."
"Yes, Beatrice, in technical speaking I suppose so," Saden answered.
"Demons? Trolls? The Loch Ness monster?" Kyle suggested.
"It's possible," Saden said calmly. "Really, in our world anything is possible."
I looked at Bea before saying, "So it's possible for vampires to have light?"
Kyle said,"But..."
Saden sighed. "Sadly, that might be the only thing that's impossible for us."
