Would youA Poem by UnwelcomeguestThe way people fail to act to the problems at hand.Would you look into a drowning man’s eyes? And tell him there’s a drought In Africa per say Would you see a beggar man’s squat? And tell him of inflation A disaster of its day Would you take a widow’s hand? And tell her of a cure for her husband dead in March When the month is early May Would you see a dead man’s bed? The medicine in your pocket And apologise for the delay Would you speak of things we don’t need to know? When there’s trouble close at hand Watch as innocents pay Would you? Would you address the problem now? When faced with deadly odds save the drowning? feed the poor? comfort the loss? show the shame? Would you? Or would you just read them the news And address nothing © 2010 UnwelcomeguestFeatured Review
