Daffodil's Dew - Cancer AwarenessA Poem by Brandon M. MitchellA free style poem with the upcoming Cancer Awareness month. Please read and give me your thoughts :)The Daffodil’s Dew
The warmth of the blinding
sun reflects grotesquely off the Daffodil’s morning dew, Shining the suns
light onto the picture of Mom hanging upon the deep blue wall. Reaching my hand to
the picture with an unsatisfying frown upon my face, The Dew slides down
the bright yellow leaf, Shattering its tear on the cold hard ground. My hand caresses my
empty chest as I whimper of despair, Remembering the days when
her existence was real. Remembering those
times when she gave me that bright, one of a kind smile, Remembering when Mom
tucked me into bed at night. Remembering Mom. The more I think
about her, The more my heart
aches of sorrowful memories. Her shadow still
lingering over my heavy giving shoulders. Reminding me to
forget those memories, The beautiful
memories that stab me in the heart. The warmth of the sun
reflected grotesquely of the Daffodil’s morning dew, It shined the harsh
light on that picture of Mom hanging on the deep blue wall, The dew slid down the
bright yellow leaf, Shattered its tear on
the cold hard ground. I remember. © 2015 Brandon M. MitchellAuthor's Note
