Vampiric Love

Vampiric Love

A Poem by SilentAuthor

The darken sky has risen
The moon is bright and full
Showering the illusion of beauty
With its seductiveness it pulls

Into the unlit room I walk
I step slowly and silently
I strain to hear what is not humanly heard
Searching for the immortal part of me

My eyes strain in the darkness
To glimpse the one I seek
I remove the boards from the window
And into the room moonlight seeps

I follow the moonlight across the room
And I eyes fall upon a mass
My heart sinks and I catch my breath
I rush over, sliding on broken glass

I fall onto my knees next to you
And roll you gently onto your back
Your body's limp, you can barely move
You have been weakened by the attack

I brush the hair from your face
My strength is now a dismay
I can not stand to see you like this
I shouldn't have let you send me away

I brush my hand across your skin
And beg for you to wake
My life is not worth a breath without you
My love for you is no longer opaque

I place your head upon my lap
And place my hand upon your neck
I feel you move, the slightest twitch
I make sure my eyes do not disconnect

Your eyes open slowly, so weak and drained
And your vision locks onto me
I see your lips form the weakest smile
I know I'm the one you didn't expect to see

You try to speak but I cut you off
You need to save your strength
I know you wanted me to say safe
But I'll be with you at any length

Your skin like ice against my heated flesh
My heart the only one beating
My immortal, my love, I can not live without you
This love of ours is never fleeting

'You can not be here' you say in barely a whisper
'The immortals will hunt you down'
I shake my head and keep my eyes on you
'Never again will I leave this town'

'I won't leave you my Vampiric love'
'I will be with you until my death'
You try to move and push me away
For my safety, the love you'll suppress

'Leave me now and never return'
'I am vampire, I am damned'
I know what you are, I always have
And I refuse to move or disband

I know those words you didn't mean
You need me like I need you
You try and grasp my hand in yours
But your strength has not renewed

I carefully sit you in my arms
And bring you into embrace
I kiss your lips so delicately
The only beating heart begins to race

I can not stand to see you like this
Weak and unable to move
You are strength, you are power, everything I need
My love for you I will prove

I look into your eyes directly
'My love you need to drink'
I tear the collar from my throat
'Do not worry, do not think'

As expected you turn away
And refuse to drink for me
But I'm not letting you make that choice
This is the only way I see

You're too weak to find a feed
And won't last if you have to wait
My love you need to drink from me
You need blood before it's too late

I reach for a piece of broken glass
And slice the side of my throat
You see the blood flow down my skin
Your immortal cravings it does invoke

I bring you close so you can drink
Your cravings you can not fight
I place my hand on the back of your head
And into my throat you weakly bite

I feel you take the blood from my neck
And I'm overcome with peace
I refuse to show you I am weakening
You must continue to have your feast

I am finding it harder to breathe
But my strengths façade I keep
I can feel my blood leaving me
Soon your recovery will be complete

My hand falls from behind your head
But yours grasps my neck in return
My eyes grow heavy, I need to sleep
Now that you'll be safe, I'm no longer concerned

I do not care what happens to me
So long as you my love, are safe
Forever in my heart you will stay
Although your damned, to me you fell from grace

My body is weak, I can not move
You have almost drained me dry
I feel your fangs leave my throat
And hear you start to cry

You place a hand upon my heart
Which I know is barely beating
You lean in and kiss my lips
Your love is strong when my life is fleeting

You always told me never to turn
You never wanted me to be damned
But here you are, offering your wrist to me
Please my love, you need to understand

I promised to you I wouldn't turn
My work is one I will keep
Your only offering your blood through guilt
And because of that I won't accept your hearts unbeat

I know you truly don't want me to accept
You have a hatred for what you've done
Let me die my mortal death
Knowing I gave my life to my love, my one

Forever as one my Vampiric love
I will always be a part of you
You turned my world right side 'round
Know I will always love you
