Have you ever seen the darkness in the storm?

Have you ever seen the shining of the stars?

Have you ever seen the colors in my eyes?

There's a mystery in the rain

That makes it beautifully tragic

Because it's unpredictable -

Potentially dangerous and potentially the most beautiful thing you've ever seen

When you look at it,

Really take your time to look at each droplet

You can see the darkness,

And the light,

And the spirals of individually that seeped in during it's fall

It's fall from being oppressed,

From being another item off the factory line

And there's a shining to the stars

You may think you've seen it,

But have you?
Have you seen the way it seems to light up the sky around it?

That maybe it lights up the world of an entirely different planet

That's so far out of reach of our own?

One day, I hope you truly take the time to see the stars for what they are

Shining in their time of death,

Taking their last moments to shine for those that may bask in their light

Even if they know that when they're gone,

So is all they worked to protect

The stars aspire to be something that we've never had the motivation to be

So it's obvious why we've never had the motivation to see the shine of the stars

Maybe you'll see only brown when you look into my eyes

But, really, it's so much more than 'brown'

There's every color you can imagine

Hidden, away from prying souls

The blue of the sky hides behind the brown of the land

But sometimes the green of the grass breaks the surface

And the reflection from the yellow of the sun shows

Sometimes even the gray of the clouds comes out, just for a bit

And they all make a spiral of color,

A shock of meaning hidden in each fleck of doe browns

A feeling like heaven when the light of a smile floods the dark of the colors

If you think you've seen the world

You definitely haven't

Even if you've seen every monument and shop there is too see

You haven't seen the world until you find the meaning

In every stone you overturn

And every star and cloud you see in the sky

And the color in everyone's eyes
