When She LeavesA Poem by KaiaWhen she leaves, you become a vengeful guardian Though you never noticed you were the one to be angry at You were a phase gordian knot Too far gone to save When she leaves, I find myself picking up your broken pieces, Watching as you tear yourself apart And as your will to live decreases When she leaves, you wind up a mess that can’t be fixed I know you’re toxic to each other Every time, we trick ourselves into denying it When she leaves, danger and fighting become your entire world I try to bring you back from a dystopia Yet somehow you always curl back into the shadows of your mind When she returned, you were ecstatic Yet I knew you hid your anger She was the only thought you had And you still decided to play her emotions Then the cycle repeated And I’m back to picking up your broken pieces © 2018 Kaia |
