Tomorrow

Tomorrow

A Poem by Ciara
"

This poem is about a girl who so badly wants to escape life that she tries to chase tomorrow, but dies.

"

The fate of tomorrow is what I look to just to get through another day.

Living in the life of dread and regret,

I want so badly to escape this life.

The darkness that surrounds my mind,

haunts my thoughts without hesitation.

They swarm me and my mental state,

leaving me shocked and speechless.

Drained of emotion,

I walk alone in my own path to tomorrow,

not looking up but looking down.

Studying the path called life that leads me to tomorrow.

My head starts spinning and my mind goes blank,

spiraling out of control,

being dropped in to an abyss of loneliness and heartache.

Cracked so many times,

the fragile heart of mine slowly shatters in my rib cage.

My powerful mind corrupts me,

breaking me down into what seems to be emptiness.

Desperate cries for help escape my mouth,

but sound doesn't follow.

Tomorrow floats among the dreams of our minds.

Chasing tomorrow killed the teenager.
