Long Time Coming

Long Time Coming

A Poem by Juliet
"

----

"
Multitudes of people, all searching for that
One thing to feed their hungry hearts

Internalizing upon every single mistake
Bearing that catholic guilt held up on high

Mother knows all the mistakes I've made
Because she made em' too.

You look into my eyes as if my soul
Were another page out of the holy book

To read so intensely,
Familiar lines from a passage so clear.

Interminable, unconditional, this pounding
imperious and powerful from my chest.

Dominating my thoughts, this heartbeat of mine
takes all control and I cannot from my mind's eye stray.

I'd live another book in your library forever,
For just the chance of you turning my pages.

The last two lines held me transfixed...

I understood the others.
