I plead for you to just let me disappear
As if I'd never been a part of your life at all. 

You smile and torment me, treating my heart as if
It deserves all of your morbid punishment.

I can't escape your obsession.

You take pleasure in forcing my heart to fear you 
Since it will never love.

I'm a frightened bird trapped in a cage

Wailing to be free and you grin,
Pretending the fear in my heart will mend the pain in yours.

This is a lot more profound than it looks on the surface. "Pretending the fear in my heart will mend the pain in yours"
That's an accurate description of a true abuser: someone that hurts and intimidates others simply to quell the fears and misgivings in their own sad, little minds. Cruelty is a lot like sugar; more you have, the more you want. It gives you an illusion of power. And then it pushes you over the edge, and you bleed out. When an abuser's emotions drain, they got nothing left; it's over. Then they die, alone and cold.
