More Bridges, Less BurningA Poem by JulietNot a soul knows who I speak of in this poem. :) But, they are amazing.I raise my oversized bottle in celebration To another night of loneliness. Another night of taking no one's s**t And most certainly not experiencing human interaction. How clever. Sitting alone, drowning in beer and my sorrows Unable to tell left and lies from right. Sloppy drunk kisses to my body pillow, Many messages I'll never remember sending in the morning, But only one you. Tonight, if I so happen to drunkenly stumble over the right words I'll tell you of the attraction I've always felt toward you, The certain, secret lust that sobriety has held firmly between These thirsty lips of mine. Parched and begging for the sweet nectar of your saliva in my mouth, Tongue to tongue our hormones ignite the spark that set our safehouse a'flame. I'll pass out in this bed of pathetic longing, Waking to the sounds of silence, and wishing I'd chosen you Instead of this mess and Instead of this beer.
