Barren Wastelands and Broken Hearts

Barren Wastelands and Broken Hearts

A Poem by Juliet
"

----

"
Do not tell me,
I'm not useless and love,
love, love me
With the heat of a thousand suns.

All the while, spending your effort
On a "real woman" one who
Can do the things
That for me
Can't be done.

My love for you was
Never enough, and I
A barren wasteland,
Full of pain,
Devoid of life.

This piece is truly tragic, and every stanza reveals slightly more about the situation. I am glad you placed the authors note otherwise i may have been confused by this powerful piece, but with that present it made perfect sense. Life is full of pain and tragedy but somehow you used this to craft a very intense poem. Great work.

The path has me stumbling. The Author's note gives a hint but the poem needs more to bring me to your space.

Love has become a pretense of extracting favors off the other person... You address issues in this poem that are complex and that we often choose not to talk about.. A bold attempt! Well done!
