Sunrise, Sunset

Sunrise, Sunset

A Poem by Juliet
"

----

"
Dawn breaks.

I wake in a bed unfamiliar
With the sensation in my heart
That can only be explained
As a hybrid of emotion.

Too late for apologies, reversals of
All the bad acts performed and you,
Once my fondest love
Were boo'ed  off stage for a performance
So dreadful that it hurt my heart
Just to watch.

Having faith in the skill of an actor to consistently perform well
Is as that of giving a homeless man money
Telling yourself he won't use it
To lose all sense of self and control,
To buy just one more six pack, and
that you've done a good thing.

It may help you sleep at night, but the world
Is still the sick mess it was before you gave that
Chance at hope.

Having faith in people is useless
When they're all animals anyway.

I live through another day knowing
That my two cents will never make a difference and

The sun sets.

The set up of this piece is amazingly well done. The world can be a cruel place and if we arent careful it always seems like the sunrise brings more of the same. Everything that happened before the dusk destined to repeat itself. Honestly its the six pack, or so, that helps me sleep but the morning sun is a real b***h when your still sick on the bus ride to work. Cant help but feel like cattle on the freeway to downtown. Two cents are worth something since most animals have no sense.
