Alice likes to steal
Valuable things that are real
Meg hasn’t stolen before
Until she walked into the store
Alice is really mean
Under the prettiness you have seen
She befriended Meg
And treated her like a peg
First Meg stole some chocolate
Stuffed it down her pocket
Later she stole a book
She was glad that no one looked
One day she got caught
Because Alice told the man at the store
The guy’s name was Blair
Infamous for an affair
The ex of Ms Ferguson
The father of Emily and Aaron
Meg was in some trouble
Blair has stubble
Meg was about to get abused
She was scared right out of her shoes
Then she managed to break free
She had to explain to her daddy
Meg didn’t know what to do!
She was very confused!
She told Laura everything
She was stuttering
Eventually things were okay
Meg is in New Zealand to this day

If you want me to explain what the poem means and you don't mind me spoiling the book, I will explain now. If you don't want me to spoil the book, turn back!

Last chance to turn back!

So basically Meg and her father, Don, moved from Toronto to New Zealand. Meg became friends with a girl named Alice who shoplifts. She managed to get Meg to do it with her. One day Nick - Alice's boyfriend - was hassling Meg and she slapped him. Nick told Alice that Meg couldn't keep her hands off him and that she liked him. Alice got mad. She and Meg argued. Alice pretended to make up with her. Alice took her shoplifting again. Alice told a staff member to watch Meg - it was her revenge. The staff member's name was Blair, who divorced with Laura - Don's date - because he was playing around with a 17 year-old girl. So he sexually abused someone. That is why in the poem Meg was about to get abused.

Sorry if this is confusing!
