humiliated

humiliated

A Poem by Ed

with what was an old man under these clothes

I beat the odds of habits till

reunited with life.

Humiliated, that I was and tried

Wasn't better than anyone

but there were times

being alone

I really knew what I had missed

I think I'll be fine

I didn't need to pretend

I went and wrote a book

people didn't mind

So turned it around

Saw what people are like

Because of this now I can tell, let go.

People can be nice.

And if they were wrong about me

I was wrong about them first.
