Nothing but a MemoryA Poem by UnforgivableWhat happens when you're nothing but a memory, but then you become . . forgotten?
So close, but so far
Within reach. I reach out Yearn for touch For somebody to see me. Nothing My hand passes through them I'm nothing Just a hologram A memory Invisible to all All but you. Or so I thought You no longer see me You ignore me My wish, my happiness, my dreams . . Gone You've left me with nothing. All I am is a memory To those who wish to remember. Can I forget myself? Escape the emptiness? I have no power, no significance Nothing but a memory Yet, things change A new face, new smiles A gentle hope to reach for A delicate happiness that grows in strength with passing days Could there be more to life? Do others see me as you once did? This joy Though faint Though fragile Though fresh and new, It brings a glimmer of warmth to my heart As I learn to become more than your memory. © 2023 UnforgivableAuthor's Note
