We are Oceans Unending

We are Oceans Unending

A Poem by UnendingOceans

On a beach I see

far away,

water that’s warmer

than that around my feet.

Right here,

digging my toes into sand

softened by waves

that lull like heartbeats, as soft.

Behind,

maybe your voice

carried by gulls

that drop a feather.

smile.

Sunlight warms waiting for you.

Sunk to my ankles,

feels like a universe swirling around them,

so it’s hard to turn when you tap my shoulder.

fall. laugh.

both of us smiling.

Author's Note

UnendingOceans
I often like to write poetry as though I'm painting, where images are presented to the reader as though through brush strokes until the whole picture is seen. Other times I enjoy writing narrative. Consider that when reading this piece.

I write because I can.

Good taste of heart to this one.
