A Lost Era

I wish I lived in the times

When men would draw

Exquisite paintings

of their Earthly angels...

Kings would build

Strong castles and

ample cities

For their queens-

When a man wasnt lampooned

For how far he would travel

for just one kiss

From his love...

 

A time when the classic poems

dissected in todays schools

Were born-

 

When love songs
echoed from the hills,

Sweet melodies of

Frantic heartbeats

that ran wild and free like rivers...

Pouring deep into a sea of

timelessness...

An era where true love actually

Stood a chance.

Not to make you jealous, but I have visited Spain! (Barcelona and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.) It was absolutely gorgeous, and I honestly wish I could've stayed longer!!

Gorgeous poetry! It is indeed romantic, and evokes a time, as you say, "when men would draw Exquisite paintings of their Earthly angels." I somehow doubt that medieval times were as romanticized as they are in the present day, although I can understand the fantastic images that are drawn from them. Nonetheless, excellent work - I enjoyed it very much.
