The Beginning

I wrote this in my Creative Writing class for our Flash Fiction assignment.

After three months of exchanging clandestine looks throughout the school building, we finally decided to give the obvious yearning relationship a try.

“I want to do it in person, not over the phone. If it’s okay with you, how about tomorrow?”

“Okay.” I could hear her smile.

The next day, in envy, her “friends” threaten to jump her if she dated me. It scared her away. All hope was lost. At the end of the day, she emerged from the crowd of enthusiastic students towards me. I assumed I was going to hear the devastating news that haunted me.

“If you still wanna, I do.”

Agony turned to ecstasy.

I read all the flash fiction pieces your posted; theyre good. Are these drabbles? I didn't take a word count.

That's what we tried to work for. I think one or two of them are 100 counts, but the others range from 100-110.
