Grey Tie Tuesday

Grey Tie Tuesday

A Poem by Barry Shelton

Verse 1:

Take all these words, write them down on empty pages

Hundreds of lines, it does no good at all

I pace in an empty room as my mind just rages

And I just wait for the fall

Gripping to the pen s tight I may just draw blood

Do it a little and I should

Oh yeah I should

Chorus:

This is a window to the enter workings of my mind

You may see things that haund your dreams, things you dont want to find

What difficulty in laying it all out on a page

Then from there I let it drip from my lips onto the stage

Through clenched teeth, here we go

Welcome to the show

Verse 2:

Facing my worst fears is something I have forced myself to do

But its so much harder when the thing that you fear most is you

Been running from myself for what seems like forever, casting out memories to the ocean blue

I wish I could move on and just let go

yeah, let go

repeat chorus

Bridge:

Another verse and a line

Next a chorus and a rhyme

It sounds oh so simple but I digress

Cant seem to rid this pain from my chest

Cutting off circulation again with this invisible noose

I'm barely breathing

Barely breathing, yeah
