Dealing with an addict

On this battle ground,
fighting a battle,
that can not be won.
I`ve always tried to be the better man,
but now I am just damned.
You see me for something I am not,
left me in this dark abyss to rot.
You tell me lies,
that even I can not hide.
This life just seems like too much,
I`ll admit I am stuck in a rut,
you pick me up,
just to pull me back down,
you leave my head spinning,
I can see that you think you`re winning.
This fight isn't over,
I know you`re not sober,
you said you`d get clean,
but what you say is based on greed.
No more will I try to help you,
I fought for you,
Lied,
Cheated,
I`ve been beaten.
Soon this will all stop,
living in my own hell.

This is a great poem describing the feelings of an addict, the fight to not use it. The everyday pain. It is kind of a sad topic, if they do not use it, they suffer from withdrawal, if they do take it, they fall into a deeper abyss. Another great poem!
